Jean has been awarded a record number of medals in the New York Festivals Best TV & Films, winning FIVE GOLD and FOUR SILVER WORLD MEDALS!
That's nine world medals out of nine nominations, easily a record for any New Zealand production. Jean took five NYF golds: Best Performance by an Actress (Kate Elliott), Best Original Music/Lyrics (Peter Hobbs, Harmonic) and Best Camerawork (Ginny Loane), plus TV Movie, and Drama Special in the Television – Entertainment Special Program category. The drama also took four silver medals in the Television – Craft: Program category, for Best Direction (Robert Sarkies), Best Screenplay (Paula Boock & Donna Malane), Best Sound Design (Chris Burt, Inside Track), and Best Special Visual Effects (Peter McCully, Albedo).
The Award’s VP & Executive Director Rose Anderson described Jean’s wins as “a wonderful achievement”, saying, “Jean received multiple perfect scores from our grand jury members. The stellar results were across all categories and here at New York Festivals we are honored to recognize such a wonderful programme.”
